whoever correct?

Are these three examples correct with whoever?

1. I go out to talk to whoever it is.

2. He attacked whoever disagreed with him.

3. Give the job to the most qualified candidate, whoever it (or that) is.

Reasons:
(1) It is he; thus, use whoever.

(2) He disagreed with him; hence, use whoever.

(3) It is he; hence we'd use whoever.

Is whoever correct in all three examples? If not, why?

Thank you.

Thank you, Aspara Gus. I was told that whomever was correct in both, and it ain't so. :-)

Indeed it ain’t. Whoever told you that probably thought whoever was the object of the verb/preposition, but it’s really whoever it is / whoever disagreed with him that’s the object (just as whoever told you that is the subject of thought, not whoever).
