Letter Writing

Who to address the thank you letter to ?

I hope the question doesn't sound too pathetic, but I assure you it's a legitimate question.

I would like to send a thank you letter to a customer service representative who has helped me through a very difficult situation. I have the letter ready and it is currently addressed to him. The question is, I want his company / his supervisor to read this letter and reward him in some way. Should I write a separate recommendation letter and send it to the company? Or can I send the thank you letter to the company and have them forward it to the rep? In other words, what is the best way to approach this situation?

Thanks a bunch.

Hi, I think you should write a nice appreciative letter to his boss, and just send a copy of that to the representative, who'll be happy with that. Address the letter to the boss, and at the bottom left, put cc Representative's name. Mail the two items separately.
