Who or whom

Hi,

Should I use who or whom in the following sentences?
1. In a million years nothing will remember who/whom they were.
2. To love is to accept her for who/whom she is.

I think you mean "nobody will remember". Only people can remember things.

I agree with the previous post regarding "who", however. English is evolving to the point where "whom" is only used after prepositions.

Even users of 'whom' would use 'who' in those sentences - or at least they should. 'Who' is the subject of the clause; It is the whole clause that is the direct or prepositional object.
