who knows the history of the slang word "impetulant"?

Does it mean "petulant", when used. I woke up at 3am, and
decided to look the word up for no reason, and found it
doesn't exist. But it is used 800 times in webpages.

Thanks, JackFranklin

Hmmm, if it has been used 800 times in web-pages, then the users have probably mixed it up with another word. Most likely, I would suggest, are "impetuous", "impatient", and "petulant"! In any case, it's not a valid English word, as yet, and that's why you won't find it in any dictionaries.

This word also sounds like "impertinent"

Impetulant is a socialized corrupt of the word impetuous, meaning impatient or impulsive, (as an impetuous child) . The word is not an official term but is used in local culture to mean virtually the same thing as impetuous, as showing a sudden, impatient irritation over some trifling annoyance.

It is a hybrid of 'impetuous' and 'petulant'.. it means the same as being 'petulant'.. which in turn is akin to being 'impetuous'

It is so close to being a malamanteau!!! But alas, it is only a neologism created by a portmanteau of two correct words.

Impetulent has a more condescending, holier than thou, tone that impetuous lacks.

that impetulent is not allowed in scrabble (14pts) makes me petulant!

make it a word Webster & Oxford!

I use this word to identify the moment when I can no longer forgive another for their allegiance to negativity.
