Who is we?

Hello,

Somebody put/ made a comment in CNN, that we have lots of X and Y, we can do this and do that. I asked the writer, who is ''we''? I meant what did the writer mean by we?

1) Is Who is we wrong?
2) Is put a comment proper?

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

This is my opinion.
In media publication, " we" is often used as a collective entity, even though it is the writer who wrote the commentary. In the work place, "we" is also used in memos and emails, suggestive of a collective decision made by the company

Hi,

'We' could mean eg 'We who work at CNN', or it could mean eg 'We, the American people'. The context usually makes the meaning fairly clear.

on a channel, eg on CNN, on Fox News'.

But BBC is not the name of a channel.

How were you able to find out the identity of the writer? And after you found that out, I assume you asked him through an email. Is that right?
