Who is it??

Hi,

I probably didntt post my question in a proper way.

So I have to ask once more:

Is it possible to say "Who is it?" or do I have to say "Who is he/she?"? I have learnt I should not use the pronoun "it" about persons.

Thanks for your help Mowgli

Hey, Mowgli,

Didn't you read the answers? Yes, it's possible. You hear a knock on the door, and shout "who is it?", because you don't know whether it is a woman or a man. It's just an example of course.
