Who he is vs. who he is

Do you say: Everybody knows who James Bond is. OR Everybody knows who is James Bond.
I'm asking because I heard the second version on TV the other day and I'm a little confused what version is better/correct.

"...who James Bond is." is OK. It is in indirect speech; you report the direct question: 'Who is James Bond?'
