Who he cares about...

1. Who he cares about doesn't care about him.

2. She realized that who she works with is important to her.

3. She realized that who she loves has gone.

4. Who knows the rules best will win the game.

5. Who is regarded as great always has a humble heart.

Do the sentence make sense? I think 1, 3 do not make sense. What do you think?

Thanks in advance!

Apart from (2), none of them is natural. 'The person' is a far more natural choice than 'who'.

Thanks for the reply. I see. In this sense, I supposed the sentences below do not make sense, either. Am I right?

1. Who you talked to in the party is my friend.
2. Who you think is bad is not always that bad.
3. Who he used to think of was his son.
