Who can modify this article for me? Thanks.

Progress is essential to us. Without progress we would live in the same state forever.
For example, In the Tang dynasty of China, Yang guifei, who was the beloved consort of Emperor Xuanzong, liked eating lychees very much. But the lychee were only cultivated in Jiangnan that was several thousand kilometres far away from Changan. The fast horse at that time can only run 200 kilometres a day. So it would cost several days to take lychees to Changan. To make things worse, the lychee would go bad quickly at ordinary temperature. But there is no refrigerators in Tang dynasty. So the transportation time was critical.
Because Yang guifei was the beloved consort of Emperor Xuanzong, he always satisfied Yang guifei’s demands. In order to get lychees, Emperor Xuanzong decided to use several fast horses at that time to take lychees from Jiangnan to Changan where Yang guifei and Emperor Xuanzong lived. According to legend, because of taking lychees, several horses died. In the end, Yang guifei could eat lychees. But I think that lychees were not fresh at all due to it had been transported several days.
Now, we could eat fresh lychees at any time of a year which can be realised due to the progress of technology. On the one hand, refrigerators can create the environment of low temperature so that the lychee can remain fresh for a long time. On the other hand, there are planes, trains and cars etc which are several times faster than horses. So the lychees can be transported from Jiangnan to Changan during from just 2 hours to one day. Thanks to them! We could eat fresh fruits at any time of a year.

In summary, we need progress in order to improve our life standard. Without progress, we would live in the same state as our grandparents and great grandparents had lived. Who could think that we doesn’t need progress?

With time periods such as week, month, and year we use both definite and indefinite articles.

"A" is used when we are talking about frequency:
He visits us several times a year. (a year = per year)
We take exams once a week. (a week = per week)
