Who are socially disadvantaged or discriminated against

political correctness - avoidance of expressions or actions that can be perceived to exclude or marginalize or insult people who are socially disadvantaged or discriminated against

Is "against" really required? Doesn't it make complete sense even without "against". Please guide me on this. Thanks.

I think "to discriminate" is intransitive. I'll have to look it up. Why do you treat him like that?

My son cannot discriminate between red and green.

Anyway, the "against" is definitely needed in your sentence.

"are socially disadvantaged" is "to be" plus adjective.

(Now I'm confused.)
