But if you want a better sentence: Mr. Chandra is one of our (most) diligent employees.

Because Mr.Chandra is just one person,althought employees are more than 2 persons,but you can think that it's like an object in sentence,Mr.Chandra is a subject in sentence.

As CalifJim said,if you want,his sentence is pretty well,too: Mr.Chandra is one of our (most) diligent employees.

Oh my, that IS a tricky one in English. The clause "who are diligent" modifies "employees," which is plural. Therefore, ARE is the correct verb choice. Think of it this way: You have several employees who ARE diligent, and Mr. Chandra IS one of them. Does that make sense.?

You could say: Mr Chandra is AN EMPLOYEE who IS diligent.
