whilst

Whilst the fax number of the Section will remain unchanged, the new address and telephone numbers of the Section are in the attached telephone directory for your reference.

I think it should be replaced by 'as'. Pls comment.

Hi, I'd prefer to say 'although'. 'As' here would suggest that a consequence follows, and the second part of the sentence is not a consequence. 'While' is rather more common than the variant 'whilst'.
