While?? When??

Here is a sentence.

"While I was working in the fields, my son would bring me oranges or candy"

Is it right??

I am wondering whether 'while S + be+ V-ing, S +V" could be used.

Hi PG I see nothing wrong with your sentence. When would also be possible but I'd prefer while since the working lasted a long time. Would means used to .
