Is the usage of while correct in this sentence?

The owner of the hotel didn’t seem to hear me. He was grumbling while he shook the dust off his clothes.

or should I write:

The owner of the hotel didn’t seem to hear me. He was grumbling while he was shaking the dust off his clothes.

or

The owner of the hotel didn’t seem to hear me. He grumbled while he shook the dust off his clothes.

or

The owner of the hotel didn’t seem to hear me. He grumbled while he was shaking the dust off his clothes.
