WHILE

The longer action is the while clause, but what if both action could be the longer one.

1 Don't drive while listening to music.
2 Don't listen to music while you're driving.
3 Don't listen to music while crossing the street.
4 Don't cross the street while listening to music.

I'd go with 2 and 4. Which would you say, and are all good?

thanks

  • I would say that all of them are ok grammatically, altough some (#2 and #3 in my opinion) might sound more "reasonable" to some people in everyday situations .
  • I think I see the while-clause as the most important activity, and the dont-clause as the activity that disturbs you.
