Hi,

Is there any difference in meaning between the two sentences here?

'She looked after the children while I did the shopping.'

'I did the shopping while she looked after the children.'

No. Not really. Not in this case. But that is not true generally for all sentences with while clauses.
To my ear the while clause selects and highlights the important or larger activity. The sentence as a whole says what was going on within the time, scope, or con
