Which would be correct?

Experts,

For the following sentences, the preposition to the word "shower" would be "a" or "the"? Which would be correct?

The water doesn't get hot enough for a/the shower.
The water is not hot enough to take a/the shower.
The water is not hot enough for taking a/the shower.

Thank you.

Hi Say 'a shower'. It's a general statement. #1 and #2 sound OK, but #3 with 'for taking' sounds a rather odd.
