Which word would you use for these sentences please?

Could you tell me how to properly say these sentences? Which word would you choose?

- I like making/to make sure the place is nice and tidy and that everything is properly put away and placed.

- There is lots of room here as opposed to the other house where/in which there is no room to spread out.

- I don't know what goes where/which goes where. Do the shoes go here or the clothes?

- You'll actually be able to hit a couple of rooms and make your vacuuming time shortened by/shorten your vacuuming time by preventing you from having to stop and plug it in all the time.

- Untangle it when there is a knot in it. That's actually going to save the life of the cord, make it last a lot longer.
