I have and found 'summonsed' is the right word. But I remember reading the other word is also used. Are they interchangeable? Thanks.

In one sense they are interchangeable. They both mean that you have been ordered to attend court. The difference being that if you are summonsed then that is a legal summoning i.e. the court has ordered you to attend.

Summons is most frequently a singular noun. I have seen it referenced as a verb in British English.
Summon is a rather common verb. It is used in American English.

Summons and Summonses are nouns. Summon and summoned are verbs. The artilce he posted is wrong when it talks about verbs.

Here's how the legal terminology works in Canada and, I believe, in Britain.

The noun 'a summons' is a call to appear in court.
The verb 'to summons' means to issue a summons to someone, ie to give the person the court paper.
