Which word is missing from the sentence!

Hi All!

i had the following sentence on an intermediate english exam. One word is missing from the sentence. Could anyone of you tell me, which one it is? I could not find any answer.

The sentence:
My mother likes being responsible____for people's lives.

According to the task, it has to be a word which fits in here.

Thank you for your help!

Actually, the sentence is perfect. Probably, it might be a mistake at the exam.

Or a trick question!

And what is the trick?

The "trick" is that there is no word that fits to make the sentence complete. So you look for something that does not exist.

Then it was really an error in the test.

Adverbs, dear friend, adverbs.

For example, think "time".

My mother likes being responsible lately for people's lives.

My mother likes being responsible daily for people's lives.

My mother likes being responsible recently for people's lives.

Or, as in my case...

My mother likes being responsible unapologetically for people's lives.

As a student of English language for quite sometime now, I think the space needs to be filled out with any suitable noun such as "person" "individual" "citizen" etc. Any other suggestions please ?
