Which way do you prefer to ask?

There are two situations below, would you please tell me that if you were Jenny, which version of question would you prefer to ask, and why? Thank you!

#1 (Susan is using the computer now, and Jenny needs to use it. Jenny asks:)
v1, - How much longer will you be using the computer?
v2, - How much longer will you use the computer?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
#2 (Jenny is looking forward to graduating. She asks her teacher:)
v1 - How soon will we be graduating?
v2 - How soon will we graduate?

Either question within the numbered sets is acceptable. I would normally use v1 in #1 and "When is our graduation date?" as a substitute for the questions in #2.

In #1 I have a strong preference for v1. I would not use v2. The use of the computer is continuing from now into the future. Such continued activity is expressed with a continuous tense.

In #2 I have only a weak preference for v1. v2 also seems acceptable.
