Which was to

Hello Everybody!

I have a question on starting a separate clause with 'which was to.' Abraham performed the ritual, which was to sacrifice his son Jacob. Is 'which was to' okay here? Or would it be better to say: Abraham performed the ritual, which involved sacrificing his son.

2) Is there a comma (for 'for one') when we say: The judge, for one, was as corrupt as any.

3) Is media singular when we use it like this: The media has its flaws and shortcomings. ('media and its' rather than 'media and their').

4) He was capable of twisting their arms and thereby getting both of them to agree. (is this right?)

Warmly,
