Which was broadcast

Can one say

a. These two teams played each other in 2011, which was broadcast on many TV stations around the world.

b. These two teams played each other in 2011, which was seen all around the world.

?

The which is supposed to refer to 'played each other last in 2011'. In other words, the event (the game or the match) was broadcast on many TV stations around the world (or, in the case of (b) was seen all around the world).

Many Thanks.

No, that doesn't work. "which" needs to refer back to a noun or noun phrase; it can't refer to "played each other in 2011".
