Which tense should I use?

I need to write a comment after reading an article. Problem is, which tense should I use while writing it?

"The article discusses about pluralism", or "The article discussed about pluralism".

Should I use Present or Past Tense?

You can use either present (the current state of the article), or past (what you have read.) It is really your personal stylistic choice.

The article discusses about pluralism.

The usual convention in such cases is to use the present tense.

However, you cannot discuss "about" something. You must say "discusses pluralism".

What does "the passage" refer to? A passage in the article? A passage of some other text that the article refers to?

"the ones mentioned in the passage" may be preferable anyway.

Does "mostly discussed" refer to something discussed later in the same article? In other words, does the article mention some titles in a particular passage, and then go on to discuss them? Or is the discussion somewhere else?
