Which tense should I use?

She had no time to sleep because she had to prepare for the Christmas party which (come) in two days.

Which tense should I use? "came" or "would come" "or other tenses?

Top answer

In this sentence, 'in' means 'after', so you have to use 'would come'. I'm sorry; in already decided events, you have to use 'present progressive'.

I would use "was coming up". But this might be better:

She had no time to sleep because she only had two days left to prepare for the Christmas party.

What if the whole sentence is in present tense?
"She has no time to sleep because she has to prepare for the Christmas party which (come) in two days."
"comes" or "is coming (up)" or "will come" or others?

I would do it as shown above.
