Hello everyone, I'm confused about the tense used in the following sentence. Could you help me to determine which one?
(1) I didn't choose that house because it is located near the highway
Or (2) I didn't choose that house because it was located near the highway
In the first sentence, the house is near the highway, that is a fact, so I use present tense.
In the second sentence, I think this is a report sentence, so I use past simple.
Khanh Hoang 7991 (2) I did n't choose that house because it was located near the highway. This is the usual formulation because it uses the same tense (past) in both clauses. The present ( is located ) is not wrong, however.
