Which tense is the best one in the sentence

A friend of mine asked me to repair his computer. I wanted to ask him a question if someone had tried to repair this comp before he came to me. I'm not sure about proper construction of this question. Can you tell me which sentence is correct/the most natural?
- was someone trying to repair it?!
- has someone tried to fix it already?
- did someone try to fix it ?

  • Dzikus - was someone trying to repair it?!
  • - has someone tried to fix it already?
  • - did someone try to fix it ?
  • I think the second one is the best choice, if you're asking if someone has worked on that specific problem.
  • " I'm assuming you don't mean to insult the previous techie.

I think the second one is the best choice, if you're asking if someone has worked on that specific problem.

Or, "Has any

What I most likely would say:
Has somebody tried to fix it before?
(Or) Did someone try to fix it before? (The first one is the most correct grammatically.)

The middle one. Has someone tried to fix it already? or Has anyone already tried to fix it?
