She got home just as I left/was leaving. If you continued on your way, you could use either one. just as I was leaving" would really fit.

If you continued on your way, you could use either one. However, if her arrival caused you to delay or cancel your departure, only "....just as I was leaving" would really fit.

Both are correct, but 'was leaving' is better.

From a conversation perspective, past continuous is more idiomatic. As I was leaving- contains the meaning " heading for the door, you could be turning off the lights with keys in your hand. So this whole process is " as I was leaving" and at the same time, she arrived, walking into the house.
