Which is better? Does the 1st one make us sound selfish?

Sorry, CJ. It doesn't answer my concerns. In this post, I have provided one sentence with "by" and replaced it with "and" in the other. I'd like to know if one sentence makes us seem less selfish. I feel the first one might imply that we only sponsored the event because we would gain something from it. But I'm not sure if I'm the only person who thinks that.

Well, I don't get that from that sentence, and I've already said that I don't get much from it at all. Both of those sentences are anomalous in my opinion. What you have on the other thread is much better.

Actually, the sentence has been changed to "We recently opened a warehouse in Whitby, enabling us to offer a more local service to our clients, and feel that it's important to support local events like this."
