Which side of brain does what?

I would like to ask what each side of the brain does. Can I say the above? I guess it's not proper language. I wonder if it is possible to say it that way or similar colloquially? I suppose I have heard something like that.

You only need an article: "Which side of the brain does what?" That is good informal English. In a formal setting, it might be something like "Which hemisphere performs each of the various functions of the brain?"
