Which should I choose?

Hi, teachers. Please help me.

(1) I want a car you have.

(2) I want the car you have.

When I want to say I don't want his but the same model, Which should I choose, (1) or (2)? or neither? My guess is (1).

(1) is closer to what you want to express even though I'd say I want a car like yours.

Actually I m not an English teacher. But I think (2) is the correct answer. Because when u say that "I want the car u have", u knew clearly about which car u want. Therefore, wWe shouldnt use "the" in this situation instead of "the".

I want a car you have. 'You' have many cars, and I want one car.
I want the car you have. I want that specific car you have, your Mazda 5..

If you mean that you want a car of the same model, you should say: I want a car like yours, I want a car like you have.
