Which sentence uses adjective "Superior" correctly?

Hallo,

The use of 'superior' can be shown as follows:

System A is superior to system B.

But, I don't know which one of the following sentences is correct.

1) Method C provides superior performance to method D.

2) Method C provides superior performance than method D.

Could you please suggest me? Many thanks.
