Which sentence sounds (more) natural? Is there any room left to improve the better one?

1) When you have been trying to convince us how serious you are on the matter, you give us this funny stuff?

How to make it sound formal?
Use "something so humorous" (to substitute "this funny stuff"), it sounds less critical; if use "something so ridiculous", too pejorative.
