Which sounds best?

A. Without a refrigerator, most food goes bad quickly in (the) summer.
B. Without refrigeration, most foods quickly go bad in (the) summer.
C. Without refrigeration, most food quickly goes bad in (the) summer.
D. Without getting refrigerated, most foods go bad in the summer.

To my ear, C. is the most natural (best sounding) of your group of four. I'd be more comfortable with it if you put "in the summer" at the beginning instead of at the end.

This version is understood ok, but logically, it can be improved. A 'fridge" is fine but restrictive. "Refridgeration" is better in my opinion because it has a more broad-base meaning.

What difference would it make if I used the countable "food" (i.e. foods). Isn't it that "foods" means "different kinds of food"?

Cuz in my language, we count "food" according to kind. And in English, there is the countable "food". What does the countable "food" signify?

I just want to reconcile the way food is conceptualized in my country with the way it is in the West.
