Which sentence is the correct one?

1) I like having you proteting me.

2) I like having you protect me.

How about this:

I like having you to protect me.

I like having you protect me would be more natural. It's what I like, that you protect me.

I like having you to protect me is a little more formal, and emphasizes that your role is protecting me. there's a bit more distance between me and you.
