Anonymous Is it I had taken [y] her to the doctor the other day or I had took [n] her to the doctor the other day? This assumes you really want the past perfect, and "I took her" won't work for your purpose.

I took is the simple past or preterit of English.

"taken" is the past participle of  "take" ie. take, took, taken

"I have" or "I had" combines with "taken" to form the present perfect or past perfect tenses.

Grammar Geek has "nailed it".
