It's been a long time since I went to a restaurant where they offered doggy bags. It seems to me old-fashioned.

Obviously you don't live here! Almost all the restaurants here have stacks of containers available for people who want to take home leftovers for their "dogs".

I often take leftovers home, but I haven't asked for or been offered "a doggy bag" for years. It's usually just "Could I have a box, please?" or "I'd like to take the rest home" or "Shall I box that up for you?" "Would you like a box?" You no longer have to pretend to have a dog to take home your leftovers!

Me neither. I thought we were talking about the general concept, not the specific words "doggy bag".
