Which sentence is grammatically correct?

"Before coming back from war,it have been three years since Jame has spoken to his daughter."

or "Before coming back from war,it had been three years since Jame had spoken to his daughter."

I think the second one is correct,but i heard the first one in a TV show the

other days,so i am wondering which one is grammatical ?
