Which sentence is grammatically correct?

The house would have gotten painted.

OR

Hi Philip

I always thought that 'gotten' was the norm in the US. Is that not the case? Here in the UK it's normal to say 'been' - I can't recall ever hearing 'gotten' (or 'got') used.
