Which sentence is correct?

I heard a sentence in a video made by an English native speaker just now. He said:"Sometimes it's difficult to say right things in English, especially when you just beginning." But according to my grammar knowledge, I think the sentence should be :"... especially when you are just beginning." Am I right?
