Which sentence is correct?

I think there is a difference between "finished lacquer top" and "lacquer-finished top" (which I would hyphenate).

In and on are both OK. I think I prefer 'on'.

The dust . . . The word 'the' suggest that these particles etc. have been already mentioned before this sentence. If not, remove 'the'.

Say 'and', not '&'.

But the bubbles certainly would be in the lacquer due to sloppy application.
