Which is correct?

It's not appropriate for me to ask him that.
It's not appropriate of me to ask him that.

He closed the door before he had/got a chance to say anything.

By/In my predictions, I'd say they're going to lose.

It's not appropriate for me to ask him that.
He closed the door before he had a chance to say anything. (I prefer had, but I hesitate to say got is wrong)
I would say "According to my predictions..."
