Which sentence is correct?

Pls could any English teachers tell me which below sentence is correct, I'm really confused about using "and" .
Also where I should put the correct punctuation of comma.

Q1 Last year, my best friend, Peter, and I decided to have a piano class.
Last year, my best friend Peter and I decided to have a piano class

Q2 We both made a promise that we had to practice hard and not to miss any of the class./any class.
We bith made a promise that we had to practice hard and don't miss any of the class/ any class.

Which ones are the correct ones? if all of them are wrong, pls correct for me, i would be really appreciated.
