Which sentence is correct?

Hi,
which sentence is correct, please?

It's clear she wasn't the kind of person you would confide any doubts to.
It's clear she wasn't the kind of person to whom you would confide any doubts.

I am really puzzled, because some people say prepositions should not be used at the end of the sentences.
