Which sentence is better English?

I wrote a report last month and just had it returned to me marked.

I wrote: "I do not have any experience with....."

The report was returned to me with some words crossed out: "I have no experience with...."

I can not for the life of me figure out why the revised version is more correct than what I wrote. Any ideas?

I don't see anything objectionable in your original sentence, so, no, I do not have any idea [ or: I have no idea ]. But welcome to the Forums, anyway!

That makes me feel a lot better at least. I thought I was going crazy looking for an error that wasn't there.

Thanks!

It turns out that my phrasing was slightly too wordy for his taste for academic writing.
