Which sentence is better?

hi guys

here are two sentences:

The bridge has a 700-year history.

The bridge has a history of 700 years.

Our English teacher said that the second one is better, it is more native(I'm not sure if it is the right word to use, whatever, you can get what do i mean , can't you?) I wrote the first one and she underlined it which means the sentence is not so good.

So which one's better? Or what's the difference between them?

Thanks a lot[F]

I disagree with your teacher. I find the first one ( 700-year history ) more idiomatic. CJ
