Which question is correct?

1. –What's on the wall?
–There are some pictures on the wall.
2. –What are on the wall?
–There are some pictures on the wall.
3. — What is there on the wall?
–There are some pictures on the wall.
4. –What are there on the wall?
–There are some pictures on the wall.
5. –What is there on the wall?
–There is a picture on the wall.

Which conversation is correct? If you have no idea what is on the wall, which question would you ask?
If you already know the picture(s) are/is on the wall, for example you are asking a kid about what is on the wall, which question would you ask?
