Which preposition is correct?

he lost his interest for serving as a doctor

he lost his interest in serving as a doctor

Some experts say the strength of the local currency contributed in slowing the nation's exports

I forgot to input a title so I posted it again.

I have learned the preposition "in" is used with "interest" but I found "for", used with interest, so there is a meaning difference or only one is acceptable?

Also the preposition "to" is used with "contribute" but in some article, I found "in" was written with "contribute" ,so which one is right or there is a meaning difference?
