Which pet will suit me best?

However, before rushing out to get a pet, you should ask yourself, "Which pet will suit me best?"

There are a few expressions, such as fit, match, go well with, which are really close to suit semantically, but I doubt if they can replace it in the above utterance. Your adivce? Thanks.

You can say "fit/match my needs and circumstances" but "suit me" is more concise.

Thanks, GG.

Just to make sure, it doesn't read as well to write "fit/match me" as "suit me," right?

Not to my ears, no. Match my needs, fit my purposes - those sound better than "match me" or "fit me."
