I hope someone can shed some light on the following sentences for me. Which one is correct or are they both ok? Thank you.
1. Americans invented the jelly bean. (with the, but no 's')
2. Americans invented jelly beans.
3. The jelly bean is one of the Easter candies.
4. Jelly beans are one of the Easter candies.
